FOOTBALL GHANA
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF…
A Sportventurer in Ghana
We wake at around 8 and after having breakfast we head down to do PE lessons at the schools we work in. Even just by walking past the classrooms you are greeted by the kids leaning out of the window to ‘high-five’ you or just to say good morning.
The classroom sizes vary from between 20-80 students but are always so enthusiastic and energetic about new games you introduce such as British Bulldog and wheelbarrow races!
After PE lessons we coach the three school’s football teams. The children really respect your opinion and knowledge of the game and will respond greatly to the energy you put in. Near the end of the project we organize matches between the schools and here you can really see the improvements made through training. Watching the kids develop and improve due to your coaching is fantastic and you can see the difference even over the relatively short time of 5 weeks.
After a hard day you get to sit back and relax with other Venturers.
